To ensure the highest level of email communication and to support the strong reputation of customer's email addresses connected to Reply, we have a minimum requirement on an acceptable email bounce rate.
For new sequences, a sequence gets suspended when the bounce rate exceeds 15%. An existing one gets suspended if its bounce rate exceeds 25%.
Reply lets you see bounce rates in Sequence stats and on the Reports page. The metric helps you to check bounce rates at any time and thus avoid suspending sequences. Also, the system notifies you when a sequence reaches half of the bounce quota.
The bounce rate is calculated as the number of bounced emails/total people.
Bounce rate = Bounced emails/Total people
How to calculate sequence bounce rate:
- Open the Reports page or click the Stats tab on the Sequences page.
- You can see the bounce rate stat in the Key Metrics section on both pages (it is placed next to the last metric Not reached).
- To check the historical rate for all time, apply the All time filter and hover over the i-sign near the Bounce rate metric. The corresponding hint will pop up, for example: All time Bounce rate: 4%. Sequence will be suspended at 25% rate.
When a sequence gets paused:
If a sequence has reached 50% of the bounce quota (7,5% for new sequences and 12,5% for old sequences), the system automatically pauses it allowing you to take all necessary precautions. This is to prevent the rest of the prospects from bouncing. You will also get the corresponding notification on the Stats page of such a sequence.
Note: The hint for all time bounce rates won’t be shown on the Reports page.
