Basic contact variables

Personalize emails using your contacts' basic information

Written by Dasha Leshchenko

Basic contact variables are the ones you'll use most when creating email or LinkedIn templates. They pull information from the basic fields in your contacts' profile cards so you can personalize your messages.

You can use them to include details like first name, company, or job title, and make your messages feel more personal.

To add a basic contact variable:

  1. Create a new sequence or open an existing one.

  2. Open or add the step you want to edit (for example, an email, LinkedIn message, or SMS).

  3. Click the Variables icon in the top-left corner of the editor.

  4. In the variables window, go to the Contact tab.

  5. Select the contact variable you want to insert.

  6. Save!
