Set up and manage how AI-generated replies are sent

In addition to generating email sequences, Jason AI can handle inbound replies by drafting or sending responses and helping book meetings when a prospect shows interest.

In this guide, you'll learn how to set up AI replies with Jason AI for both non-AI SDR and AI SDR sequences.

How do AI replies work?

When a prospect replies:

  1. The reply is automatically categorized in your Inbox.

  2. Jason AI analyzes the message and generates a response based on the reply, previous conversation, and available information.

  3. The AI-generated response is saved in your Inbox as a draft and labeled AI Draft.

When you open the conversation thread, you can:

  • Edit the response before sending it

  • Regenerate the reply

  • Add extra instructions to adjust the message

  • Rewrite it in a different tone or style

  • Translate it into another language

Once the response looks good, you can send it to your contact.

How to set up AI replies

AI replies can be set up for both regular and AI SDR sequences.

Regular sequences

💡 For regular sequences, AI replies are generated for emails only.

  1. Open your sequence and go to the AI replies tab.

  2. The Handle replies toggle is enabled by default.

  3. Provide additional context.

    Use the text box to add information that can help Jason AI generate more relevant replies. For example, you can include:

    • Key product features

    • Service pricing

    • Details about your offer

    • Job description or requirements

    You can also leave this field empty. Jason AI will still generate replies based on the contact's message and the sequence context.

AI SDR sequences

💡 For AI SDR sequences, AI replies can be generated for both emails and LinkedIn steps.

  1. Open your sequence and go to Jason AI → Jason AI assistant.

  2. The Handle replies toggle is enabled by default.

  3. Select a knowledge base.

    Choose a knowledge base with your product information, guides, or other reference materials. Jason AI will use it to create replies that match your context.

Add a meeting scheduling link

Select a meeting tool or paste your link into the Link meeting tool field. You can use:

  • Reply (Google Calendar or Zoom)

  • Calendly

  • A third-party meeting booking link

💡 Note: Google Calendar, Zoom, and Calendly must be connected first in Settings → Meetings.

Choose how AI replies are handled

For both regular and AI SDR sequences, you can choose what happens with AI-generated replies.

Under What would you like to do with the AI-generated reply?, select one of the options:

  • Save as a draft – The reply appears in your Inbox as an AI Draft, so you can review and send it manually.

  • Send automatically – Jason AI sends the reply automatically.

  • Mixed – If you're using an AI SDR sequence, Reply handling rules in your knowledge base let you choose which replies should be sent automatically and which should stay as drafts.

[Beta] Control when automatic replies are sent

You can choose when automatic AI replies are sent:

  • Send as soon as possible – This is the default option. Jason AI sends the reply as soon as it's ready.

  • Send on a schedule – Select one of your existing schedules and optionally add a delay. The reply will be sent when the schedule is open.

With Send on a schedule, you can choose how long Jason AI should wait after receiving the prospect's message:

  • No delay – The reply is sent as soon as it's ready, as long as the schedule is open.

  • Fixed delay – For example, wait 5 minutes before sending the reply.

  • Randomized delay – Choose a range, such as 5–30 minutes. Jason AI will randomly select a delay within that range for each reply.

Choose how re-engagement follow-ups are handled

For AI SDR sequences, you can also choose how AI-generated re-engagement follow-ups are handled.

Under What would you like to do with Al-generated re-engagement follow-ups?, pick one of the options:

  • Save as a draft – The follow-up will appear in your Inbox labeled AI Draft, so you can review and send it manually.

  • Send automatically – Jason AI sends the follow-up immediately.

  • Mixed – If you have set up Re-engagement cards in your knowledge base, you can decide which follow-ups are sent automatically and which stay as drafts. Jason AI will apply these rules for different types of follow-ups.

Optional settings

You can also adjust the following settings for AI replies:

  • Also Show in Gmail Inbox – Drafts will appear in both Reply Inbox and Gmail Inbox, so you can manage them from either place if Findy is installed.

  • CC / BCC – Add extra recipients to receive the AI-generated message when it's sent.

Handling meeting intent

If a reply is categorized as Meeting intent, Jason AI can help schedule a meeting:

  • It checks your availability based on a connected meeting tool or a provided booking link.

  • If the proposed time is available, Jason AI will book the meeting and send a positive reply.

  • If the slot is already taken, Jason AI will suggest the next available time.

  • If the contact provides their own booking link, Jason AI will compare availability and pick a time that works for both of you.

AI Replies in Inbox

To view and edit AI replies:

  1. Go to the Inbox in the left panel.

  2. In the left panel, click AI draft to filter threads with AI-generated responses. Each thread will also have an AI Draft label next to the prospect's name.

  3. Open a thread to view the draft. You can also give feedback using the thumbs-up/thumbs-down buttons to indicate whether the draft is accurate to help improve AI learning.

  4. If needed, click 🔄 Re-generate to see a new AI-generated response.

  5. When the reply is ready, click Send.

The reply is sent from your email account with your signature.

Important notes

  • If a prospect sends multiple replies in a row, Jason AI generates a response only for the most recent message.

  • If a new reply comes in after a response has already been generated, the previous draft is discarded, and a new reply is created based on the latest message.

  • For different reply categories, Jason AI will generate responses that match the category. For example, if a reply is categorized as Not now, the AI will create a corresponding answer.

  • Responses are generated for all categories except Do not contact. If a contact prefers not to continue the conversation, Jason AI will not generate a reply.

  • If a reply does not match a defined category, Jason AI will still generate a response using generic prompts.
