Once you connect your LinkedIn account to Reply with an Auto cookie, you can use extended features of LinkedIn steps in a sequence, such as LinkedIn automatic steps.

When you run a sequence with automatic LinkedIn steps, messages, and connection requests will be sent automatically if you use public LinkedIn or Sales Navigator. If you use Sales Navigator, you will have higher limits for connections and messages than with public LinkedIn.

You are free to choose any combination of automatic and manual LinkedIn steps that best suit your needs. For example, you can send manual LinkedIn connection requests and automatic LinkedIn messages, or vice versa. If you would like to send LinkedIn messages to people with whom you are not connected on LinkedIn, you will need to add both automatic LinkedIn steps to your sequence: first Connect, and then Message.

When a contact responds to your LinkedIn messages sent manually or by an automatic LinkedIn message step in a sequence, Reply detects the reply and sets the Replied in LinkedIn status to the contact. You can see the reply in the contact's Activity log.

Please note. If the sequence with automatic LinkedIn steps includes any contacts without LinkedIn URLs, Reply will assign them the 'Missing Data' status.

Automatic LinkedIn Connect

The automatic LinkedIn connect step will be processed only if you are not connected to the prospect yet.

When you add an automatic LinkedIn connect step to a sequence and run it, Reply checks if a LinkedIn account is connected to this sequence and if the prospect is already a connection. If the prospect that goes through this step is not a connection of yours, there will be an attempt to send a connection request. If you are already connected to the prospect, this step will be skipped and the prospect moved to the next step in the sequence.

Automatic LinkedIn Message

The automatic LinkedIn message is sent to the prospect only if you are already connected to them on LinkedIn no matter what triggered the connection, an automatic or manual LinkedIn connection request.

Once you add an automatic LinkedIn Message step to a sequence, Reply checks if a LinkedIn account is connected to this sequence and if the prospect is already a connection. If the prospect that goes through the step is a connection of yours, there will be an attempt to send the message. If you are not connected to this prospect, this step will be skipped and the contact moved to the next step in the sequence.

LinkedIn automation schedule

Automatic LinkedIn messages and connection requests are sent to prospects according to the schedule assigned to the sequence. You can assign and customize a schedule on the sequence Steps tab.

View the Progress of your LinkedIn automatic steps

Reply allows you to track all the activities that relate to your LinkedIn automatic steps. Here's how you can view it:

  1. Open the contact profile (from the People tab or just the Sequence page). The right sidebar with the card with the prospect's data will be shown.

  2. Click on < icon to extend the sidebar.

3. Navigate to the Activity tab.

In this tab, you can view the history of all activities: the progress of all set tasks, and the exact test messages you sent. In case a prospect leaves you a response, this tab will show you a notification that the reply was detected and will show you the full text of the message.

Other than that, you can leave notes for each prospect using the text field 'Add note' + clicking on the Save note button.

4. You can also view brief information on the progress of your sequence in the Log tab. To do this, open Sequence navigate to the Log tab.

Important

  • Take into account your daily LinkedIn Safety limits. If you saved your Automatic LinkedIn steps and run sequence, but your Daily limits have been hit, execution of the automatic LinkedIn steps will be postponed to the next day.

  • If a prospect responds to your LinkedIn message, or connect request, he will be automatically marked as finished. Take into account your Replies handling settings (Sequence → Settings):

  • Connection with your LinkedIn account impacts sequence performance. If the connection is lost, the sequence stops. If you connected your account with an Auto Cookie, there would be no hurdles with lost connections. However, this connection will be active as long as you are logged into LinkedIn (on the official website). If you log out, your automatic session will be interrupted.

Important:

To use LinkedIn's automatic steps, please make sure that your LinkedIn localization is set to English.

As of now, Reply's automation for LinkedIn accounts is fully supported only for those that use English. If you use other languages, some features of LinkedIn automation may not be available or may not work as expected.

To avoid any potential issues, we recommend setting your LinkedIn localization to English. For this, log in to your LinkedIn account, go to Settings & Privacy, select Site Preferences, and choose English under Site Language.
