To use LinkedIn automation in your sequences, you'll first need to connect your LinkedIn account. In this article, we'll look at three ways to do it: using a session cookie, credentials, or an invite link. Let's see how each one works and the steps to set it up.

Connect with a session cookie

This option uses our Chrome extension, Findy, to connect your LinkedIn account. You'll need to be logged into LinkedIn in the same browser where you're using Reply.

  1. Go to the Settings β†’ LinkedIn Accounts β†’ New LinkedIn account.

  2. Select Add with cookies.

  3. Install the extension and let the initialization complete.

  4. Sign in to it:

  5. Log in to your LinkedIn account in a separate tab (if not logged in yet).

  6. Return to Reply.

  7. The extension will add the cookie automatically:

  8. Click Connect, and it is done!

πŸ’‘ Important:

  • Use your LinkedIn account from one device and location. Switching between devices or locations can interrupt automation.

  • If you're using multiple LinkedIn accounts connected with a session cookie, it's important to be logged into each account from a separate browser profile in Chrome to avoid any disconnection.

  • Make sure the toggle near your profile photo is green. If it's gray, turn it on and refresh the page. Reply updates the session cookie automatically, but you can also click Refresh to update it manually. If the cookie updates successfully, the dot will turn green (the cookie field will stay empty – that's normal).

Connect with credentials

This option lets you enter your LinkedIn login details directly, without having to rely on a session cookie.

  1. Go to Settings β†’ LinkedIn Accounts β†’ New LinkedIn account.

  2. Select Add with credentials.

  3. Enter the email address associated with your LinkedIn account and password.

  4. If 2FA is enabled, submit the OTP code sent to your email or confirm the sign-in in the LinkedIn mobile app.

  5. Done!

Connect with an invite link

This option lets you connect a LinkedIn account securely using a shareable link. It's best for organization accounts or client profiles you don't have direct access to. The person receiving the link can authorize the profile on their side, so you can connect the account without needing their login details or access to Reply.

  1. Go to Settings β†’ LinkedIn Accounts β†’ New LinkedIn account.

  2. Select Add with invite link.

  3. Enter a name to identify this LinkedIn account β†’ Create.

  4. Copy the link and share it with the person who will authorize the account.

  5. They will need to enter their login details and complete the 2FA if enabled.

  6. Once done, the profile will be added to Reply.

πŸ’‘The invite link is valid for 7 days. The account will stay in Pending on the LinkedIn Accounts page until it's authorized.
