Custom fields

Learn how to add your own contact data fields

Written by Dasha Leshchenko

Custom contact fields let you store extra information about your contacts that is not included by default. You can use these fields to keep your data organized and to personalize your emails using custom variables.

Reply currently supports two types of custom fields:

  • Text fields for words or short phrases

  • Number fields for numeric values only

You can create up to 50 custom fields per account. These fields are shared with all team members.

💡Important: Number fields accept only numbers. Text values are not supported.

If you need more than 50 custom fields, please contact our support team via chat or at [email protected].

How to add a custom field?

To create a new custom field:

  1. Scroll to the Custom fields section.

  2. Expand the section and click Add custom field.

  3. Give your field a name in the Field label box.

  4. Choose the field type: Text or Number.

  5. Save!

You can also check the Use this field as a phone field box. When this option is enabled, the field can be used for calling, and the value saved in this custom field will be treated as a phone number.

💡Note:

  • Number fields support numbers only. Letters, symbols, and mixed formats are not supported.

  • Custom fields do not support the following symbols in their names: ^ . ! @ # $ % & * ( )

  • Custom field names cannot contain only numbers. They must include text, or a combination of text and numbers.
