To start tracking visitors on your website, you need to add the tracking script to your website's header. In this article, we'll show how to add the script to commonly used platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and others.
Step 1. Copy the tracking script from Reply
First, you need to get the tracking script from Reply.
Go to Execution → Website Visitors.
Click Add new.
Enter your website URL and name. You can also select the lists or sequences where tracked contacts will be added.
Copy your tracking script.
Step 2. Paste the script into your website header
Next, you need to paste the tracking script inside the <head> tag of your website. Below, you'll find instructions for adding the script to the header on popular website platforms.
WordPress
Install and activate the free Insert Headers and Footers by WPCode plugin.
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Code Snippets → Header & Footer.
Paste your Reply tracking script into the Header section.
Click Save changes.
Shopify
Go to Online Store → Themes.
Click the three dots and select Edit code.
Open theme.liquid (under the layout section).
Paste the Reply script before the closing
</head>tag.
Note: Some Shopify themes separate the header into different files. If that's the case, check your theme documentation.
Squarespace
Open the Code Injection panel.
Paste the script into the Header section and save.
Wix
Go to Settings → Development & Integrations → Custom Code.
Add a new custom code snippet.
Select Head as the placement and paste your script.
Webflow
Click on Open in Webflow when you hover over your website.
Click Add on the left panel and find Code Embed under the Advanced section.
Paste the script, save, and publish the changes.
Step 3. Verify the status
After adding the script, return to the Website Visitors page in Reply and check the Status column. If everything is set up correctly, the status will show Active.
