Track website visitors and turn them into outreach-ready contacts

Written by Tania

Website Visitors helps you capture leads who visit your website and bring them into your outreach workflow. You can engage prospects who already showed interest by visiting your site and start outreach based on real intent.

Once set up, Website Visitors creates contacts in your account and lets you automatically add them to sequences or lists.

How to set up Website Visitors?

  1. Go to Execution β†’ Website visitors.

  2. Click Add new.

  3. Add your website URL. The website name is created automatically, but you can edit it.

  4. Choose how contacts should be added and updated:

    • Select lists or sequences to add website visitors to. If you skip this step, contacts will be added only to your general contact list on the People page. Please note that only new contacts can be added to lists and sequences; existing contacts will not be pushed to them.

    • Choose how existing contact data should be handled. You can select Update empty fields (new data will be added only where fields are currently empty and won't overwrite existing information) or choose Don't update any fields. This setting applies to all contacts, including existing ones. If new data is detected from a website visit, it will be handled based on this selection.

    • Decide whether to add contacts that don't have an email address or LinkedIn profile. By default, all contacts are added even if this information is missing, but you can uncheck the LinkedIn or Email boxes to include only contacts that have this information.

    • Map custom fields. You can choose which custom fields to sync to Reply in addition to the default ones.

  5. Click Create.

  6. After that, you'll see the tracking script. Copy the script and paste it into the header of your website. Refer to this guide for instructions on how to add the script to common CMS or website builders.

  7. Once installed, return to Website visitors and check the status – it should be Active.

πŸ’‘ Custom fields that can be synced from Website Visitors include Company Phone, Company Country, Company State, Company City, Company Address, Company Zip, Company LinkedIn URL, Company Revenue, Company Description, Work History, Number of LinkedIn Connections, Education History, Seniority Level, and Department.

When someone visits your website, Reply checks whether this person already exists in your account before creating a new contact.

The system checks for matches in the following order:

  1. Email address

  2. LinkedIn profile

  3. First name + Last name + Company

Reply runs these checks one by one. If it finds a matching contact based on any of these identifiers, it'll update an existing contact. If none of the checks return a match, Reply creates a new contact in your account.

Contacts created from website visits include only the information available for each visitor, so some contact fields may be left empty.

Statuses

Each website connection has a status, so you can quickly see if tracking is working.

Active – Website tracking is working correctly.

Site unavailable – The website link is not valid.

Not installed – The script was not added to the website header.

If you need the script again, click View connection instructions to access it anytime.

How to identify website visitor contacts?

If you didn't select a list or a sequence, contacts are added to the general People page. To find contacts added from website visits, click the eye icon next to a specific website tracking. You'll be redirected to the People page, where the filter will show both newly created contacts and existing contacts that were updated.

Once contacts are created from website tracking, you can also export them from the Website Visitors page.

The exported CSV file includes:

  • Contact ID

  • FirstTrackedAt

How to delete a website tracking?

To remove a website from tracking, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the tracking script from your website.

  2. Go to Execution β†’ Website visitors.

  3. Delete the website tracking in Reply.

πŸ’‘ Important: the system won't let you delete a website until the script is removed.

Deleting a website tracking does not delete contacts that were already created. All previously added contacts will remain in your account.

Pricing

By default, your account includes 200 free website visitor credits. Once Website Visitors is set up, up to 200 new contacts can be automatically added to your account.

If you need more credits, you can purchase a Website Visitors add-on. Monthly add-ons are available for monthly Reply plans, and annual add-ons are available for annual plans.

πŸ’‘ Note: If you're on an AI SDR plan, website visitors are already included, so you don't need a separate add-on.

Available add-ons

Monthly subscription:

  • Website Visitors 300 – $49/month

  • Website Visitors 800 – $89/month

  • Website Visitors 3000 – $149/month

  • Website Visitors Unlimited – $199/month

Annual subscription:

  • Website Visitors 800 annually – $69/month

  • Website Visitors 3000 annually – $119/month

How to add or change the add-on?

  1. Go to Plans & Billing.

  2. Click Manage current subscription.

  3. Select the add-on you want under Website Visitors.

You can upgrade at any time, and the new add-on will apply immediately. If you downgrade, the change will take effect on the next billing date. Until then, you can continue using your current add-on.
