Buying intent signals

Add prospects automatically based on signals that show buying interest

Written by Tania

Buying intent signals are actions or characteristics that show a prospect is more likely to be interested in your product or service. You can choose which signals should determine the contacts added automatically to your AI SDR sequence.

We currently support the following signals:

  • Technology used

  • Hiring intent

  • LinkedIn post engagers

  • Competitor followers

To add buying intent signals:

  1. Go to Step 2. Contacts.

  2. Click Add another contact source.

  3. Select the signal you'd like to add.

Below is an overview of how each signal works 👇:

Technology used

This signal helps you identify companies based on the tools or technologies they use.

💡 The Accounts feature must be enabled to use this signal.

How to set it up

  1. Click Buying intent signals Technology used.

  2. Choose your matching logic:

    • And – companies must use all selected technologies

    • Or – companies can use any of the selected technologies

  3. Select one or more technologies from the list.

  4. (Optional) Choose an industry.

  5. Set the number of accounts to find (up to 500).

  6. Click Apply.

Once you launch the sequence, a prefilled account list will be generated in Autopilot settings. This can take 10-15 minutes.

After generation, account filters will be locked, but you can still edit contact filters.

Hiring intent

This signal helps you target companies that are actively hiring.

💡The Accounts feature must be enabled to use this signal.

How to set it up

  1. Click Buying intent signals Hiring intent.

  2. Enter the job title in the Keyword field.

  3. (Optional) Select an industry.

  4. Set the number of accounts to find (up to 500).

  5. Click Apply.

Once enabled, AI SDR will find companies matching your criteria and add relevant contacts to your sequence.

Just like with Technology Used, an account list will be generated in Autopilot. Account filters will then be locked, but you can still edit contact filters.

Important: Sales Navigator Autopilot is required for both Technology Used and Hiring Intent signals. You can only use one of these two signals at a time.

LinkedIn post engagers

This signal lets you automatically add people who engage with your LinkedIn posts (likes or comments) into your sequence.

You can target:

  • Engagement from specific posts

  • Engagement from a creator profile's recent posts

Post URLs

If you want to track specific posts:

  1. Select Post URLs.

  2. Paste the LinkedIn post URL.

  3. Set the ICP fit.

  4. Click Apply.

AI SDR will automatically start adding contacts who liked or commented on those posts to your sequence.

The maximum number of post engagers added is 100 per post per day:

  • Up to 50 from likes

  • Up to 50 from comments

This limit applies per post. For example, if you track 10 different posts, AI SDR can collect up to 100 contacts from each post per day.

Please note that the total number of contacts added from post engagement cannot exceed the number of Realtime B2B contacts included in your AI SDR plan.

Important: After launching the sequence, each post is monitored for 3 days. After that, tracking stops, and no new contacts are added.

This works best for time-sensitive campaigns like product launches or events.

Creator profiles

If you post regularly on LinkedIn and want ongoing engagement tracking, you can use the Creator profiles option.

  1. Select Creator profiles.

  2. Select how long the system should monitor it.

  3. Add the LinkedIn profile URL you want to monitor.

  4. Select how many recent posts to track.

  5. Set the ICP fit.

  6. Click Apply.

Contacts who liked or commented on those posts will be added automatically to your sequence.

💡 You can add multiple creator profiles or post URLs at the same time.

Competitor followers

This signal helps you find people who follow competitor companies.

How to set it up

  1. Add LinkedIn company URLs of competitors.

  2. Set how many contacts to collect.

  3. Set the ICP fit.

You can add multiple competitors, with a total limit of 500 contacts. Please note that data collection may take up to 24 hours.

If needed, you can add more competitors later and rerun collection.

Set ICP fit

Below the buying signals, you can set an ICP fit threshold. This determines how closely a contact must match your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) to be added to the sequence. Only contacts that meet or exceed the percentage you set will be included.

To learn more about how ICP scoring works, see the related ICP article.

Buying intent signals in existing sequences

You can enable Buying intent signals in an existing sequence:

  1. Go to the Jason AI tab in your sequence.

  2. Open Lead sources.

  3. Click Add another contact source.

You can also use Buying intent signals together with Sales Navigator Autopilot filters. This way, your sequence will include contacts who meet your targeting criteria and those who show buying intent.

You can use multiple buying intent signals at the same time. The only exception is Technology Used and Hiring Intent – these two cannot be used together in the same sequence.
