LinkedIn AI voice messages

AI voice messages help you send short, personalized audio messages to your LinkedIn contacts or AI SDR prospects. They make your outreach more engaging and memorable, helping you stand out and connect better with your audience. 🎥 Watch the quick video below to see how AI voice messages work and how they can benefit you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2X3cGczcTk Create & Manage voice profiles To get started, you'll first need to create and manage your voice profiles - this is where you choose how your AI voice messages will sound. To create a new voice profile: 1. Go to Settings → Voices. 2. Click New voice and give your profile a name. Next, you have two options: record your voice or upload an audio file. Record your voice Step 1. Add your personal details – first name, last name, company name, and language. 💡 We support multiple languages, so you can record or generate voices in the language that fits your audience best. Step 2. Click Generate reading text. The system will create a short sample text (up to 60 seconds) for you to read aloud. You can edit it or replace it with your own words. Step 3. Record your audio directly on the platform. You can re-record anytime using the Record new button or preview your AI voice by clicking Show preview. Step 4. When you're happy with the result, click Create profile to finish the setup. Animation Your voice will now be ready to use in AI voice messages. Upload an audio file If you already have a recording of your voice, you can upload it instead. Supported formats are MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV (up to 60 seconds). 💡 Important note: The number of voice profiles you can create can't be higher than the number of connected LinkedIn accounts. Edit/Remove voice profiles If you'd like to edit or remove an existing voice, click the three dots next to the profile name and choose the necessary option. 💡If you plan to remove a LinkedIn account, make sure to delete the voice profile first since the number of voice profiles can't exceed the number of connected LinkedIn accounts. To edit a voice profile: Click Regenerate Voice Profile – this will take you back to the recording page, where you can re-record your voice or upload a new file. Once you're happy with the result, click Complete Regeneration to save your changes. If you're using multiple voice profiles, you also have the option to set a default voice that will be automatically used in your sequences: Link a voice profile Each LinkedIn account is automatically assigned a default voice profile. If you have multiple voices and want to change which one is linked to a specific account, please follow these steps: 1. Go to Settings → LinkedIn Accounts. 2. Click on the LinkedIn account you want to update, and scroll down to the Voice profile section. 3. Select the voice from the drop-down list. 4. Click on Link Voice Profile. Animation 💡 One voice can be used for multiple LinkedIn accounts. Each LinkedIn account can have only one voice profile linked at a time. Add an AI voice message to a sequence To add a LinkedIn AI voice message step: 1. Open the Steps tab of your sequence and click on + to add LinkedIn. 2. Select AI voice message. 3. Enter your text. 4. (Optional) Add variables or AI variables to personalize your message. 5. Click Preview voice to generate and listen to the message. 6. Save. When you add text to an AI voice message step, you'll see an estimated audio duration. This estimate works only for Latin-based alphabets, so it won't appear for Cyrillic, Arabic, or other non-Latin alphabets. 💡Your message can be up to 1,000 characters, but we recommend staying under 600 characters – this usually makes your message about 20-40 seconds long, which works best for engagement. LinkedIn allows messages up to 1 minute. In the Preview tab, click Generate preview audio to listen to your message. If you prefer to upload your own recording, choose Select another file. You can upload an audio file or record one directly. If you make any text changes, click Generate audio with new text to refresh the audio. You can also check the estimated duration in the Preview tab for each contact. AI voice messages in AI SDR sequences When you create an AI SDR sequence, you can select AI voice message steps as one of the outreach channels. In the Steps tab, you can either: - Use an existing template, or - Let AI generate the message for you automatically. In the Preview tab, you'll see the generated text and can adjust it before generating the final voice. If your sequence is in Approval mode, these changes can also be reviewed and approved on the Pending Approvals page. The final version that gets sent might sound slightly different from the preview – that's expected, as AI voices can have small natural variations. You can listen to the actual message sent from the Contact Activity card. If you upload your own file in the Preview tab while using Approval mode, the AI-generated message will be removed from the Pending Approvals page, and your uploaded audio will be sent instead.

How to make AI voice messages sound more human?

AI voice messages work best when they feel conversational, like you're speaking to a real person. Follow our simple tips to make your messages more human. 💡 If you're new to AI voice messages, see our LinkedIn AI voice messages article for an overview of how to create and send them. Add pauses Use “…” or “–” to create short, natural breaks. This helps the message flow like real speech. Use light filler words Words like “umm,” “so,” “well,” or “you know” make the tone relaxed and friendly. Just use them sparingly. Use informal contractions Say “gonna,” “wanna,” “kinda,” or “gotta” to sound less scripted. Write spoken contractions naturally Phrases like “I'd like to,” “don't know,” or “we're going to” read more like real speech. Spell out symbols and abbreviations Write words instead of characters: - “%” → percent - “$” → dollars - “TB” → terabyte - “m” → million - “k” → thousand Don't use links Links don't sound natural when read aloud and can break the flow. Keep sentences short Break complex ideas into clear, simple sentences for easier listening. Write like you talk Use a friendly, informal tone – imagine speaking directly to someone instead of writing an email. Use personalization Add variables like {{FirstName}} to make your message feel personal and genuine. Keep it short Short messages are more engaging. Aim for 20-40 seconds (LinkedIn allows up to 1 minute). Use voice tags Our voice model supports tags that help make speech sound more human and expressive. To use them, place tags in lowercase square brackets at the start of a sentence or phrase you want them to apply to. 👉 Example: [curious] Are you currently using any automation tools in your workflow? You can also click Enhance in the editor. AI will automatically add voice tags throughout the message. You can review, edit, or remove them before saving. Animation The tags listed below are examples, not a fixed set. The model is flexible and can understand other voice-related words in brackets as well. You can experiment with different expressions depending on context. | Emotional expressions | These tags guide tone and attitude:[curious] [excited] [sad] [happy] [sarcastic] [dismissive] | | --- | --- | | Vocal delivery & pacing | These control speed, volume, and delivery: [pauses] [slowly] [whispers] | | Non-speech sounds & reactions | These add natural human reactions:[exhales] [clears throat] [coughs] [sighs] [chuckles] [laughs] [frustrated sigh] [happy gasp] | Add background noise You can add ambient sounds, such as an office or restaurant environment, to make voice messages sound more natural. 💡 Background noise is not available for custom audio uploads. Use the Pronunciation dictionary The Pronunciation dictionary lets you control exactly how AI pronounces specific words in voice messages. This can be useful for company names, product names, industry terms, or other words that AI may mispronounce. Pronunciation settings apply to all of your voice profiles and all newly generated AI voice messages. To add a pronunciation rule: 1. Go to Settings → Voices → Pronunciation dictionary. 2. Click Add pronunciation. 3. Enter the word and its pronunciation using International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) notation. 4. Save your changes. For example: - Jason → ˈdʒeɪsən - Reply → rɪˈplaɪ 💡 Important notes: - Add each word on a separate line. If you need to define the pronunciation of a phrase or multiple words, create a separate entry for each word. - Pronunciation rules apply only to AI-generated voice messages. They do not apply to uploaded audio files or pre-recorded voice messages. - Changes affect only newly generated voice messages. Previously generated or already sent messages will not be updated automatically. - The system does not automatically detect mispronounced words. You'll need to add custom pronunciations manually.

LinkedIn safety limits

LinkedIn safety limits help reduce excessive activity and lower the risk of your account being flagged or suspended. They control how many automated actions Reply can perform per day. 🎥 Check out the video below to see how LinkedIn safety limits work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3HZyy5t7Bk You can set limits for the following actions: - Connections - View Profile - Like Recent Posts - Comment Recent Posts - Messages - InMail - Revoke Connections – Cancels unaccepted connection requests. Here's a detailed article on how to revoke sent LinkedIn connection requests and why it's important for your account's reputation. - Endorse Skills - Follow Profile By default, Reply sets recommended limits for each LinkedIn action. You can adjust them based on your needs and keep track of your daily usage. View your limits To view your LinkedIn limits: 1. Open Settings. 2. Go to the LinkedIn Accounts tab. 3. Click your connected LinkedIn account. 4. You'll see your current LinkedIn limits below your profile information. Types of safety limits You can set safety limits in two ways: Limit ranges or Max. amount. Limit ranges Limit ranges let you set a range for daily actions. Reply picks a random number from this range each day. For example, if your limit is 20–30, Reply might send 22 requests on Day 1, 28 on Day 2, 25 on Day 3, etc. Dynamic limits help make your actions look more natural to LinkedIn by varying the number of actions each day. This reduces the risk of your account being flagged for suspicious activity. By default, we suggest safe ranges for different actions: - Connections, View Profiles, Like Recent Posts, InMails, Revoke Connections, Endorse Skills, Follow Profile: 25–35 - Messages: 35–50 Max amount Max amount is a fixed daily limit. Instead of setting a range, you choose one specific number. For example, you can set your connection requests to stop at 25 every day. The default limit is 30 for each LinkedIn action. 💡 The limits apply only to LinkedIn automatic steps and do not include any manual actions. Edit your safety limits To edit your safety limits: 1. Choose your preferred mode: Limit ranges or Max. amount. 2. Select the LinkedIn action and set the desired limit using the slider. 3. Click Save. Animation You can set limits up to 100 for each action. If you update your limits, the changes will take effect starting the next day. For the rest of the current day, your actions will follow the limits previously set. Track your safety limits You can see how many actions have been completed today in the top-right corner of each action. 💡 LinkedIn limits reset according to the UTC time zone. Delay between LinkedIn actions You can set a minimum and maximum delay between automated LinkedIn actions for each LinkedIn account. Before each action, Reply randomly selects a delay within the range you set. This helps vary the timing of automated actions and make them look more natural. The same range applies to all automated actions from that account. To configure it: 1. Go to Settings → LinkedIn Accounts. 2. Click your LinkedIn account. 3. Find Delay between each LinkedIn action (seconds). 4. Set the Min and Max values. 5. Click Save. 💡 The default delay is 60-120 seconds. You can set a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 86,400 seconds. The range must be at least 60 seconds wide. What happens when you hit a limit? If you reach the daily limit for an action, Reply will pause that action until the next day. You'll also get a notification in the Sequence → Log tab. Your limits reset the next day.

How to set up automatic LinkedIn sequence steps?

Automatic LinkedIn sequence steps let you automate common LinkedIn actions, such as sending messages, connecting with people, and engaging with posts. This helps you save time while reaching out to more contacts. You can combine automatic and manual steps in the same sequence to fit your workflow. For example, you could send connection requests manually while automating message delivery, or do the opposite. Automating your LinkedIn outreach can help you reach more contacts, expand your network, generate leads, and promote your brand more efficiently. Here are the available automatic LinkedIn sequence steps: - Message – send a message to an existing LinkedIn connection. - Connect – send a connection request to someone on LinkedIn. - InMail – send private messages to people on LinkedIn without needing a prior connection. - View Profile – automatically view a contact's LinkedIn profile. - Like Recent Posts – like posts shared by your contacts. - Endorse Skills – automatically endorse the skills of your contacts. - Follow Profile – follow the LinkedIn profiles of your targeted contacts. - Voice Message – send a voice message to a LinkedIn connection. - AI Voice Message – automatically generate and send a personalized AI voice message to a LinkedIn connection. 💡Important: To start using LinkedIn outreach, please make sure to connect your LinkedIn account. If the sequence includes contacts without LinkedIn URLs, Reply will assign them the Missing Data status. How to add an automatic LinkedIn step to a sequence? 1. Open an existing sequence or create a new one. 2. Navigate to the Steps tab and select LinkedIn. If you're adding a step to an existing sequence, click on the + button to add a new step and select LinkedIn. 3. From the drop-down list, select Automatic, then choose the type of step you want to add. 💡 Note: If you select 'Manual' from the drop-down, you'll be guided through setting up manual LinkedIn connections. 4. Complete the step. - If you choose Message, enter your message in the text editor (up to 8,000 symbols). - If you choose Connect, enter an optional personal message (up to 300 symbols) in the connection request text editor. - You can also use variables and templates from your Reply account to personalize your messages and connection requests. 5. Click Save. That’s it! You can continue adding more steps if needed. Types of LinkedIn automatic steps LinkedIn automatic steps can include messages, connection requests, InMails, profile views, and more. Here are the descriptions of all the LinkedIn automatic steps that you can create: Message A LinkedIn message is a direct message to your contact. To message LinkedIn users outside your network, be sure to include both Connect and Message steps in your sequence. Once you add an automatic LinkedIn Message step to a sequence, Reply checks if the prospect is already a connection. If you are not connected to this prospect, this step will be skipped, and the contact will be moved to the next step in the sequence. You can type your message in the text field. For the message step, you can also add links, pictures, and attachments. To make the process easier, you can use a template. To do this, click on the Templates icon → Select a folder → Choose the template you want. 💡Note: Messages cannot exceed the limit of 8000 symbols. You can also personalize your message by using variables. To add variables, click on the { } icon → Select from Contact, Team, or Advanced variables → Insert the ones you need. You can preview your message by clicking the eye icon in the bottom right corner of the pop-up. For attachments, the supported file formats are the same as on LinkedIn: - Adobe PDF (.pdf) - Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx) - Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) - .jpg/.jpeg - .png - .gif Please note that the maximum file size is 3 MB. You can attach only 1 file per message. Connect This step sends a connection request with a short note to someone on LinkedIn. When you add an automatic LinkedIn connect step to a sequence and run it, Reply checks if a LinkedIn account is connected to this sequence and if the prospect is already a connection. If the prospect that goes through this step is not a connection of yours, there will be an attempt to send a connection request. If you are already connected to the prospect, this step will be skipped, and the prospect will be moved to the next step in the sequence. You can use templates and variables in the text editor, just like in the message step. However, attachments are not available for the Connect step; they are only supported for automatic LinkedIn messages. 💡 Note: Connection requests cannot exceed 300 characters. View Profile This step automatically views the profiles of your contacts. Like Recent Posts Use this step to automatically like the posts published by your prospects. InMail This step allows you to send private messages to anyone on LinkedIn without having to establish a prior connection. Here's a detailed article about the InMail step. Endorse Skills With this step, you can automatically endorse the skills of your contacts. Note that this feature only works for contacts you're already connected with on LinkedIn. If you're not connected, this step will be skipped, and the contact will move to the next step in the sequence. When setting up this action, you can choose up to 3 skills to endorse. If the contact has fewer than the selected number of skills, only the available skills will be endorsed. Follow Profile This step automates the process of following targeted contacts on LinkedIn. If you're already connected with a contact, this step will be skipped since LinkedIn automatically follows your connections. However, if you follow someone first, you can still send them a connection request. Voice Message LinkedIn voice messages allow you to send a quick 60-second audio clip to a contact. You can learn more about how to use voice messages in Reply.io in this article. AI Voice Message AI Voice Messages let you send personalized audio messages generated by AI, using your chosen voice. This step helps you automate voice messages without recording them manually. You can learn more about how to set up and customize AI Voice Messages in this article. LinkedIn link types To successfully run LinkedIn steps, your prospects need to have valid LinkedIn profile links. In a prospect's profile, you will see LinkedIn and LI Sales Navigator fields. LinkedIn 👉 Example: https://www.linkedin.com/in/example This field should contain the prospect’s public LinkedIn profile URL. LI Sales Navigator This field may contain Sales Navigator links in one of the following formats: ACo links 👉 Example: https://www.linkedin.com/sales/lead/ACoAAA1EXAMPLE1234,name,SEwi ACw links 👉 Example: https://www.linkedin.com/sales/lead/ACwAAA1EXAMPLE,NAME,_O0e These links are typically added when you scrape prospects individually or in bulk from Sales Navigator using Findy. When a LinkedIn step is processed, the Sales Navigator link (ACo or ACw) is automatically converted into the public LinkedIn profile link so the step can run properly. LinkedIn badges Once a contact is processed through a LinkedIn step, the system can add the following LinkedIn badges: - Open to Work - Hiring - Creator - Top Voice These badges are added based on available LinkedIn profile data and can be used as additional context in outreach targeting. 💡 Important notes: - When you set up a sequence with LinkedIn steps, please add your LinkedIn account(s) in the sequence settings. You can select a single account or multiple accounts from the list. - You can send messages only to contacts who are your 1st-degree connections on LinkedIn, meaning they are already in your network. - For contacts who are not yet connected (2nd and 3rd-degree connections), you can send them a connection request instead. - When a contact is processed through a LinkedIn step, email and phone number data can also be automatically enriched from their LinkedIn profile if available and if these fields are empty for the contact. - To use LinkedIn's automatic steps, make sure that your LinkedIn localization is set to English. As of now, Reply's automation for LinkedIn accounts is fully supported only for those who use English. If you use other languages, some features of LinkedIn automation may not be available or may not work as expected. To edit this, please log in to your LinkedIn account, go to Settings & Privacy, select Site Preferences, and choose English under Site Language.

Common LinkedIn sequence errors

LinkedIn sequences may stop for several reasons, such as issues with your LinkedIn account, missing contact information, LinkedIn limits, or sequence settings. In this article, we'll walk you through the most common issues and show you how to fix them, so your LinkedIn sequences can get back up and running quickly. LinkedIn account is disconnected If you see this error in the tooltip when hovering over the sequence toggle, it means your LinkedIn session cookie has expired, and the account needs to be reconnected. You can check the status of your LinkedIn account on the LinkedIn accounts page or in sequence settings. If a Sales Navigator account is disconnected, the LinkedIn account owner also receives an email notification. How to fix Reconnect your LinkedIn account on the LinkedIn accounts page in your account settings. 👉 See this article for detailed instructions on reconnecting your account. Contacts are missing data If some contacts in your sequence don't have valid LinkedIn profile links, you might see the following error: Some of your contacts will not be processed as they have missing data. To check, apply the LinkedIn URL is not set filter in the People tab. The contacts that appear are the ones missing a LinkedIn link. If a LinkedIn link is present but the contact still shows a missing data status, open the link and make sure: - The profile exists and hasn't been deleted - It's a personal LinkedIn profile (not a company page) How to fix - Reimport the contacts and map the LinkedIn profile link field during import - Or, update the LinkedIn field manually for each contact in their contact card. Once the LinkedIn links are valid, the missing data status will be removed. LinkedIn action limits Your LinkedIn sequence may pause if your daily limits have been reached. This includes limits set in Reply, as well as limits imposed by LinkedIn itself (for example, the weekly limit for connection requests). To check your account limits in Reply: 1. Go to the LinkedIn accounts page and click on your LinkedIn account to see your limits. 2. Go to Reports → LinkedIn to compare your limit with the number of actions performed today. 💡 Note: LinkedIn limits are reset according to the UTC time zone. How to fix You can adjust your limits if needed, but avoid increasing them too much. We recommend following best practices to reduce potential risks. If a daily limit set in Reply is reached, LinkedIn actions stop until the limit resets the next day. If LinkedIn's connection request limit is reached, Reply pauses sending for a few hours and retries. If the next attempt fails as well, Reply retries the following day. Free LinkedIn accounts can send only 3 personalized connection requests (with a note) per month. Once you've sent these 3 requests, all further connection requests will be sent without a personalized note. To continue sending connection requests with a note, you can upgrade to a paid LinkedIn account. 💡 Note: If your LinkedIn subscription wasn't detected correctly, reconnect your LinkedIn account. Contacts are not assigned to a LinkedIn account If a LinkedIn account was deleted or removed from a sequence, contacts assigned to it become unassigned. How to fix 1. Go to the People tab in your sequence and apply the LinkedIn account is not set filter to locate unassigned contacts. 2. Select the contacts. 3. Click Change sending LinkedIn account. 4. Choose the LinkedIn account you want to assign. 5. Click Apply. Your contacts will now be assigned to the selected LinkedIn account, and the sequence can continue sending steps. You can also enable the Reassign LinkedIn accounts toggle in Settings → Emails → Sequence LinkedIn accounts: When this option is enabled, if a LinkedIn account is removed, its contacts will be automatically reassigned to another available LinkedIn account. LinkedIn account not added to the sequence If a LinkedIn account hasn't been added to your sequence, the sequence won't be able to process LinkedIn steps. How to fix 1. Go to Sequence settings → Add LinkedIn account. 2. Select the LinkedIn account you want to use. Missing AI voice profile If your sequence includes an AI voice message step and no voice profile is linked, the sequence may show an error. How to fix - Go to the Voices tab and create a voice profile. - Link the voice profile to your LinkedIn account. 👉 Refer to the LinkedIn AI voice messages article for more details.

LinkedIn automation limits: best practices and recommendations

LinkedIn is one of the most effective tools for networking and lead generation, but it has strict activity limits when it comes to automation tools. Staying within these limits is crucial, as exceeding them can lead to account restrictions or even a ban, so protecting your account is essential. In this guide, we’ll share recommended LinkedIn activity limits based on our testing and experience. LinkedIn does not publicly disclose these limits, so the numbers below are our best recommendations. By following these best practices, you can stay safe and get the most out of your LinkedIn activity. If you’d like to edit the limits, please check out our article for detailed instructions. Tips to increase LinkedIn limits safely 1. Focus on Acceptance Rates Personalize your connection requests and make them relevant to the recipient. Avoid sending mass requests to people who are unlikely to accept, as LinkedIn tracks your acceptance rate. The higher your rate, the more LinkedIn trusts your account, which may help you avoid restrictions. If your acceptance rate drops below 30-40%, it may signal to LinkedIn that your outreach is irrelevant and increase the risk of restrictions. You can track the acceptance rate in the sequence stats or in LinkedIn reports. 2. Upgrade to Sales Navigator While you can use a free LinkedIn account in Reply, it comes with limitations. For example, a free account can only send 5 personalized connection requests (with a note) per month. Sales Navigator, on the other hand, allows higher limits and offers additional tools for targeting and outreach. If you’re actively networking or prospecting, upgrading can give you more flexibility and better results. 3. Boost Your SSI Score The Social Selling Index (SSI) reflects how well you use LinkedIn for building your brand and networking. A higher SSI score shows that LinkedIn views your activity as credible and meaningful, which can help you stay within safe limits or even enjoy higher allowances for connection requests and messages. 4. Warm Up Slowly If you’re new to LinkedIn or starting fresh with outreach, begin with lower activity levels and gradually increase over weeks. For example, start with 10-15 connection requests per day and increase to 20-30 after a week or two. 5. Personalize Messages Generic, template-like messages are more likely to be flagged as spam by LinkedIn and ignored by recipients. Instead, take the time to include personal details, such as the recipient’s name, mutual connections, or shared interests. This increases engagement and improves your success rate. 6. Alternate Actions Keep your activity diverse by mixing automated tasks (like sending connection requests or messages) with manual actions (such as commenting on posts, sharing updates, or replying to messages). This balanced approach helps maintain an authentic presence on LinkedIn and reduces the likelihood of being flagged by their system. What is Social Selling Index (SSI) and why does it matter? The Social Selling Index (SSI) is LinkedIn’s score that shows how well you use the platform to build your professional brand and network. A higher SSI score can help you get more visibility and engagement on LinkedIn, which can lead to more connection requests and better networking opportunities. It also affects your connection limits, as LinkedIn may allow users with higher SSI scores to send more requests. How SSI affects connection limits - Higher SSI Scores: LinkedIn trusts users with higher SSI to be more credible, so they may allow more connection requests. - Better Engagement: Users with higher SSI usually get better results, like more accepted connection requests and more interactions with their posts. This can help increase your connection limits. How SSI Is Calculated SSI is based on four areas: - Professional Brand: Complete your profile and share relevant content. - Find the Right People: Use LinkedIn to connect with the right audience. - Engage with Insights: Interact with posts, share content, and comment on updates. - Build Relationships: Personalize your connection requests and build relationships with your network. Tips to Improve Your SSI - Complete Your Profile: Make sure your profile is 100% complete with relevant information. - Engage Regularly: Like, comment on, and share posts to stay active. - Send Personalized Connection Requests: Personalize your requests to build stronger connections. By improving your SSI, you can get more out of LinkedIn and have the chance to send more connection requests, helping you grow your network. Suggested LinkedIn limit recommendations 💡 Tip: Try using dynamic limits (limit ranges), as they mimic natural behavior. Below are our suggested activity limits: | Action | Free account | Sales Navigator | Premium | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Connection requests | up to 100 per week | Lower SSI: Best to stay within 100-150 connections weeklyHigher SSI: Up to 200 per week | Lower SSI: Best to stay within 100-150 connections weeklyHigher SSI: Up to 200 per week | | Messages | 20-30 per day, or 100-150 per week | 50-70 messages per day, or 200-300 per week | 30–50 messages per day, or 150-250 messages per week | | InMails | Not available | Typically 50 InMail credits per month | Not supported in Reply | | Profile Views | 50-100 views per day | 100 views per day | 100 views per day | | Likes | 50-100 likes per day | 100 likes per day | 100 likes per day | | Endorsements | 20-30 per day (not more than 3 skills per contact in Reply) | 50-70 per day (not more than 3 skills per contact in Reply) | 30-50 per day (not more than 3 skills per contact in Reply) | | Profile follows | up to 200 profiles per day * | 300-500 profiles per day * | 200-300 profiles per day * | | Revoking connections | 20-30 per day | 50-70 per day | 30-50 per day | * The maximum limit in Reply is 100 actions per day. 💡 Important Note: LinkedIn has a limit of 30,000 first-degree connections per account. Once this limit is reached, the Connect button on your profile changes to a Follow button. Please note that if you use a free LinkedIn account, you are limited to up to 3 personalized invitations (with a note) per month. Character limits For LinkedIn connection requests, free accounts have a character limit of 200 characters per message, while Premium and Sales Navigator accounts allow up to 300 characters per message. For messages, the character limit is 8000. For InMails, there's a limit of 200 characters in the Subject line and 1900 characters in the InMail body. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team via chat or email at [email protected]

InMail messages

InMail messages are private LinkedIn messages that can be sent without being connected to the recipient. They let you reach contacts outside your network, such as potential partners or job candidates. The InMail step in Reply allows you to send these messages automatically as part of a sequence, so you don't have to send each message manually. To use the InMail step in sequences, you need to connect your LinkedIn account to Reply and have an active Sales Navigator subscription enabled on your LinkedIn account. 💡 Important: Other LinkedIn subscription types, such as Premium or LinkedIn Recruiter, are not supported for InMail steps. How to set up an automatic InMail step? To add an InMail step to your sequence: 1. Go to the Steps tab of your sequence. 2. Click the + button and select LinkedIn. 3. Choose Automatic from the first drop-down list and InMail from the second. 4. Add a subject (up to 200 characters) and a message body. 5. Click Save. You can also use variables, AI variables, and templates in the InMail step to help create your messages. The LI Sales Navigator field in the contact card is automatically filled in and used for sending InMail messages. 💡If a LinkedIn member has privacy settings preventing InMail, the step will not be sent to them. InMail messages in Logs Go to Sequence → Log to see all activities for your sequence, including InMail messages. There, you can check when messages were planned and sent, as well as view any errors if they occurred. InMail records in a contact card All InMail activity is also saved in the contact's card. To view it: 1. Open the sequence and go to the People tab. 2. Click the contact to open their contact card. 3. Expand the card by clicking the arrow. 4. Go to the Activity tab to see all InMail messages sent to this contact. Safety limits for InMail messages The number of InMail messages you can send daily is controlled by safety limits. For InMail steps, it's also important to have enough InMail credits on LinkedIn. If you run out of credits, Reply won't be able to send the InMail messages. Safety limits in Reply apply to all LinkedIn steps in sequences and help prevent sending too many actions at once. To check or change your limits: 1. Open Settings from the top menu. 2. Go to the LinkedIn Accounts tab and select your connected account. 3. Your Safety limits appear under your profile info. 💡 You can adjust the daily limit, but it cannot exceed 100 InMail messages per day. Tracking InMail messages in Reports You can track the progress of your InMail messages on the LinkedIn dashboard. 1. Go to the Reports page. 2. Open the LinkedIn dashboard. On the dashboard, you can see: - Replied auto InMails - Sent auto InMails - Sent manual InMails 💡 For more details, see our guide on using the LinkedIn dashboard. Common issues & FAQs What happens if I run out of InMail credits? If you run out of LinkedIn InMail credits, Reply will attempt to send the InMail, but the message will not be delivered. The contact will remain on the InMail step and will not automatically move to the next step in the sequence. You can enable the Skip automatically InMail step if no InMail credits are available toggle in the sequence settings. When enabled, Reply will automatically skip the InMail step and move contacts to the next step if no InMail credits are available. Can I use a Premium or Recruiter account instead of Sales Navigator? No, only LinkedIn Sales Navigator accounts are supported for automatic InMail steps. Free, Premium, or Recruiter subscriptions cannot be used. What happens if I don't have a Sales Navigator subscription? Since other subscription types are not supported, the system will not be able to execute the InMail step. Contacts will skip this step and continue to the next step in the sequence. You will also see a record of the attempted InMail in the contact card: I got the error “We got some issues with InMail step execution, contact our support.” What should I do? This error can happen for several reasons, such as: - Your InMail credit limit has been reached - The contact's LinkedIn privacy settings prevent receiving InMails (for example, they only accept messages from connections) Contacts will remain on the InMail step until the issue is resolved. If you see this error, please contact our support team at [email protected] so we can help identify the exact cause. If I send InMails to prospects with an Open profile, will it consume my InMail credits? No, sending messages to LinkedIn members with an Open profile does not consume your InMail credits. Do I need to use Sales Navigator profile links for contacts? No, it's not required. You can add contacts using public LinkedIn profile links, and the system will automatically populate the Sales Navigator field for the contact. Once this field is filled, Reply will be able to send the InMail message as part of the sequence. What happens if a contact has disabled InMail communications on LinkedIn? If a contact has disabled InMail communications on LinkedIn, the contact will be automatically skipped and moved to the next step in the sequence.

Connecting your LinkedIn account

To use LinkedIn automation in your sequences, you'll first need to connect your LinkedIn account. In this article, we'll look at three ways to do it: using a session cookie, credentials, or an invite link. Let's see how each one works and the steps to set it up. 🎥 Learn how to connect your LinkedIn account in the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2jS30-tU-Q Connect with a session cookie This option uses our Chrome extension, Findy, to connect your LinkedIn account. You'll need to be logged into LinkedIn in the same browser where you're using Reply. 1. Go to the Settings → LinkedIn Accounts → New LinkedIn account. 2. Select Add with cookies. 3. Install the extension and let the initialization complete. 4. Sign in to it: 5. Log in to your LinkedIn account in a separate tab (if not logged in yet). 6. Return to Reply. 7. The extension will add the cookie automatically: 8. Click Connect, and it is done! 💡 Important: - Use your LinkedIn account from one device and location. Switching between devices or locations can interrupt automation. - If you're using multiple LinkedIn accounts connected with a session cookie, it's important to be logged into each account from a separate browser profile in Chrome to avoid any disconnection. - Make sure the toggle near your profile photo is green. If it's gray, turn it on and refresh the page. Reply updates the session cookie automatically, but you can also click Refresh to update it manually. If the cookie updates successfully, the dot will turn green (the cookie field will stay empty – that's expected). ✅ Green toggle – connected ❌ Red toggle – disconnected Connect with credentials This option lets you enter your LinkedIn login details directly, without having to rely on a session cookie. 1. Go to Settings → LinkedIn Accounts → New LinkedIn account. 2. Select Add with credentials. 3. Enter the email address associated with your LinkedIn account and password. 4. If 2FA is enabled, submit the OTP code sent to your email or confirm the sign-in in the LinkedIn mobile app. 5. Done! Connect with an invite link This option lets you connect a LinkedIn account securely using a shareable link. It's best for organization accounts or client profiles you don't have direct access to. The person receiving the link can authorize the profile on their side, so you can connect the account without needing their login details or access to Reply. 1. Go to Settings → LinkedIn Accounts → New LinkedIn account. 2. Select Add with invite link. 3. Enter a name to identify this LinkedIn account → Create. 4. Copy the link and share it with the person who will authorize the account. 5. They will need to enter their login details and complete the 2FA if enabled. 6. Once done, the profile will be added to Reply. 💡The invite link is valid for 7 days. The account will stay in Pending on the LinkedIn Accounts page until it's authorized. With your LinkedIn account connected, you can now add LinkedIn steps to your sequences. Check out our guide on automatic LinkedIn steps to get started.

Comment on a recent LinkedIn post

The Comment on a recent LinkedIn post action lets you automatically post an AI-generated, context-aware comment on a prospect's most recent LinkedIn post. The comment is generated based on your prompt and in the same language as the original post. 💡Comments can only be set up as an automatic step. You can set a daily limit of up to 50 comments per day per LinkedIn account. Add a comment step 1. Open your sequence and add a new step. 2. Select LinkedIn → Comment on a recent post. 3. Choose a prompt from the Library or write your own in the prompt editor to generate the comment. 4. (Optional) Preview the comment. 5. (Optional) Set skip conditions. 6. Save. Comment prompts You can choose from three built-in prompts in the Library: - Warm up - Start a conversation - Compliment the approach You can also create, edit, rename, and save your own prompts under Personal. Preview the comment Before adding the step, you can preview the generated comment using: - Sample – tests your prompt using a sample post. - From LinkedIn profile – analyzes a real LinkedIn post from the profile you provide. 💡 A preview From LinkedIn profile costs 1 Reply credit, regardless of whether the preview attempt was successful or not. Set skip conditions You can choose when Reply should skip the comment: - If the prospect's latest post is older than a selected number of days. The default is 30 days. - If the post matches a selected topic, such as politics, religion, personal topics, job postings, ads & promotions, sports, or entertainment. 💡 Reply only comments on the prospect's most recent post. If that post doesn't meet the requirements, Reply won't use an older post instead. The step is skipped if the prospect's profile is private, the post is a reshare without original text, or the post contains only an image with no readable text. Track comments You can see posted, skipped, and failed comment events in the contact's activity card. For posted comments, you can also open the original LinkedIn post. You can also track general statistics for sent comments in LinkedIn reports and sequence Stats.

Record here. You can record a voice message directly on the platform. Just click Record here, then click the microphone icon to start recording. Remember, the maximum duration is 60 seconds. After recording, you can play your message. If you'd like to change it, click Record New. If you're happy with it, click Save. How to reconnect my LinkedIn account?

If your LinkedIn session cookie expires, your LinkedIn sequences may stop, and you'll need to reconnect the account. Cookies can expire, and LinkedIn accounts may get disconnected for several reasons: - You logged out of LinkedIn, which interrupts the automatic session. Clearing your browser cache or cookies can also log you out. - You use multiple LinkedIn accounts without separate browsers or browser profiles. Make sure each LinkedIn account is signed in from its own browser or profile. - You accessed your LinkedIn account from multiple devices or locations, which can disrupt the connection. 💡 For a more stable connection, we recommend reconnecting your account via credentials or an invite link. Reconnecting via Findy session cookie If you connected your LinkedIn account via a session cookie, follow these steps: 1. Open Findy. 2. Make sure you are signed in to your LinkedIn account in your browser. 3. Click on ⚙️ to open Findy settings. 4. Click Automatic session cookie and then Go to Reply. 5. You will be redirected to your Reply account. Click Refresh to update the cookie. 6. Enable the LinkedIn toggle and make sure it turns green. Reconnecting via credentials or invite link If you connected your LinkedIn account via credentials or an invite link, follow these steps: 1. Go to the LinkedIn accounts page. 2. Reconnect your account using one of the following options: - Click the three dots next to your LinkedIn account → select Reconnect. - Or open your LinkedIn profile and click Reconnect in the top right corner. 3. Re-enter your credentials. Done! After reconnecting your LinkedIn account, relaunch your sequence by turning the toggle off and then on again.

Monitoring LinkedIn connection request statuses

When you send LinkedIn connection requests as part of your sequence, you can track the status of each request. This helps you stay informed about whether a contact has accepted the request, if it's still pending, or if there's an issue. You can track the connection request status using the Smart Filter on the People page. 1. Go to the People tab of your sequence. 2. Click on the filter icon. 3. Select the LinkedIn Connection Status property in the pop-up. 4. Choose a condition (Is or Is Not) and select the status you want to filter by. 5. Click Apply. LinkedIn connection statuses Here are all the statuses of LinkedIn connection requests and their descriptions: | Status | Description | | --- | --- | | Unchecked | When you start a sequence with LinkedIn connection request steps, the initial status will be Unchecked. This means the system hasn't received a response yet. As soon as the contact interacts with your connection request, the status will automatically update. | | Connected | This status can apply in two cases:- Connection request accepted: The contact has received your connection request and accepted it.- Previous connection request accepted: In some cases, the system detects that a connection request from a prior interaction has been accepted.Either way, this status indicates a successful connection with the contact on LinkedIn. Once connected, they will move forward to the next LinkedIn step in your sequence. | | Not Connected | This status means the LinkedIn connection attempt hasn't been successful. | | Pending | This status means a connection request has been sent but hasn’t been accepted yet. We're still waiting for the contact to take action. | | Connection forbidden | This status appears when the contact has restricted their LinkedIn account, preventing connection requests from being sent. As a result, the system will skip this connection request step in your sequence. | | Invalid URL | This status shows a verification failure when trying to validate the LinkedIn URL linked to the contact. There are two reasons for this:- No LinkedIn URL – The contact’s LinkedIn profile doesn’t have a valid URL.- Invalid LinkedIn URL – The URL provided is either incorrect, formatted improperly, or leads to a non-functional page. Please update the URL in the contact’s profile to continue with the connection. | | Revoked | This status means a previously sent connection request has been withdrawn. The request will no longer be visible to the contact, and the system will not attempt to resend it. Once revoked, you won’t be able to send another request to the same person for up to 3 weeks. | 💡Important notes: - If a contact is added to multiple sequences, one connection request status may override another. - The connection status does not affect the processing of other LinkedIn steps in the sequence, such as 'Automatic View Profile', 'Like Recent Posts', or 'InMail'. Regardless of whether the connection request has been accepted, these steps will still be carried out as planned. - You can still reply to contacts in your Inbox even if they haven't accepted your connection request, as long as they responded to it.

How to generate a 2FA shared secret key for LinkedIn?

A 2FA shared secret key helps Reply automatically reconnect your LinkedIn account if it gets disconnected, without requiring any action from your side. Reply will try to reconnect your account whenever possible, but please note that automatic reconnection is not guaranteed in every case. Generate a 2FA shared secret key If two-factor authentication (2FA) is already enabled on your LinkedIn account, you'll need to disable it and enable it again to generate a new shared secret key. To generate a shared secret key: 1. In LinkedIn, go to Settings & Privacy → Sign in & Security → Two-factor authentication. 2. Set up 2FA and enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your email. 3. Choose Authenticator app as your authentication method. 4. Copy the shared secret key displayed by LinkedIn. 5. Complete the setup by: - entering the verification code from your authenticator app, or - using a TOTP generator website. Paste the shared secret key into the generator to generate a 6-digit code, then enter the code in LinkedIn to finish enabling 2FA. Your shared secret key is now ready to use in Reply. Connect your LinkedIn account using a shared secret key If your LinkedIn account is already connected to Reply, simply reconnect it and enter your 2FA shared secret key when prompted. If you're connecting a new LinkedIn account, follow the steps below. 1. In Reply, go to Settings → LinkedIn accounts. 2. Click New LinkedIn account. 3. Select Add with credentials or Add with invite link. 💡Note: The session cookie connection method doesn't support shared secret keys. 4. Enter your LinkedIn credentials. 5. Paste the shared secret key into the 2FA shared secret field. 6. Complete any additional verification as prompted. Once the account is connected, Reply will use the shared secret key to automatically reconnect your LinkedIn account whenever possible.
