Transition from Team Edition to Organization mode

Learn what changes as Team Edition is replaced with Organization mode

Written by Tania

We're gradually transitioning all Team Edition accounts to Organization mode.

Organization mode lets you manage multiple teams or workspaces within a single Reply account and gives you more control over user access with Roles & Permissions. You can create custom roles and define what each team member can access, such as sequences, contacts, billing, settings, and more.

đŸŽ„ Watch the video below to learn more about Organization mode.

What to expect

💡The transition happens automatically, so you don't need to do anything.

When your account moves to Organization mode:

  • All of your users and account data stay the same.

  • Every user keeps the same level of access they had in Team Edition.

  • Your subscription is migrated automatically.

  • Your Mailtoaster subscription and warm-up settings are migrated automatically.

The way your users and teams are organized depends on your current Team Edition setup.

Private & Public Team Edition

If you're using Private or Public Team Edition, all users remain together in a single team after the transition.

Roles

After the transition:

  1. The team owner keeps the Organization Owner role.

  2. The default team role assigned to team members depends on your current Team Edition mode:

    • Private Team Edition → Team Member

    • Public Team Edition → Team Lead

  3. Each teammate is assigned the Access Plans and Billing Page & View team organization role.

Billing

Organization billing is enabled automatically. If you create a second team in the future, you can choose between organization billing or per-team billing.

Non-Team Edition

If Team Edition is disabled for your account, each existing team member gets their own team after the transition.

For example, if your account has a team owner and 2 team members, you'll see 3 teams:

  • Owner team – contains only the owner.

  • Member 1's team – contains the owner and Member 1.

  • Member 2's team – contains the owner and Member 2.

Each team is named after the corresponding team member.

Roles

After the transition:

  1. The team owner keeps the Organization Owner role.

  2. Each team member is assigned:

    • The Team Lead role in their respective team.

    • The Access Plans and Billing Page & View team organization role.

Billing

Organization billing is enabled automatically after the transition. The entire organization will share the same billing subscription, and the billing model cannot be changed.

By the end of the rollout, all Team Edition accounts will use Organization mode.
